Video – 20 years of challenging impunity in Rwanda

Over 800,000 people were killed during the Rwandan genocide in 1994. The country’s judicial system was also decimated, at a time when it was needed most. As the video above explains, the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda played a crucial role in bringing the perpetrators of the genocide to justice, setting important standards for criminal justice along the way.
